How This Whole Mess Started

Award Winning Drivel in 2021.

So... I was on sabbatical for a while. What happened was I was having this kind of weird thing where I was feeling lethargic, and like my limbs were just heavy. Almost like my walk was a kind of shamble. While at the same time ,my mind was constatnly racing from one thing to the next, my heart rate went through the fucking roof, my skin was constantly tingling. Anyways, I finally went to the Dr. and he said, you obviously having lurching caffeinated necromancer syndrome. So I cut my Monster intake from 3-4 to a solid 2 before 9AM, and otherwise limit myself to 3-4 diet pepsis the rest of the day. I still lurch , but my skin tingles less. I don't know what exactly I gained. But, hey, I'm back.

And like no time has passed at all, I'll jump right in, but I'm still keeping this post short(er?), but I feel it is my solemn duty to say something about how these things occurr, and to lay off as much of the blame as I can on the other guy. Having sort of slid into the the whole bookclub thing, the way other people slide into the proverbial DM's we made a late breaking decision to keep this thing going into 2021 (See the previous, and arguably exhillirating post Vinzini told me to go Back for the history of how we got to this point. Think of this like chapters in an ongoing saga.) Sometime around Christmas someone said, hey lets make this official and get a list for next year! Great idea! Let's pick award winning and important novels 0nly! God forgive us.

I'm not going to say every book we read sucked, but it really felt like it. It didn't help that as March faded into April I was still struggling through maybe the worst novel I've ever finished when personal tragedy struck (for reals actually. it was a shitty year.) I wish I had something more pithy to say about this list, but I just can't. We chose badly.
